The Graduated Licensing Program (also known as the GDL program) was introduced in British Columbia, Canada in 1998. A learner’s permit allows young drivers to get behind the wheel for a period of 12 months, at which point they can take their first road test. In order to apply for a full driver’s license with complete privileges (N sign), learners will be required to take an additional road test and have no accidents or serious violations within 2 years.

We run a qualification test on all our prospective drivers before the exam to check their level of knowledge and, if our instructors think you show promise as a driver and are likely to pass the exams once you’ve taken it, we might give you a car so that you can finish your training in the safest way possible.
